MESA helps students feel a sense of belonging and achieve success in STEM studies and careers. MESA works to ensure that Washington’s STEM workforce benefits from the state’s diverse talent and potential. EWU is the only university to offer a full four years of support, spanning freshman through senior years.
The fund supports the mission of the EWU MESA program by providing opportunities for students that include the following:
Networking: Covering the costs of conferences or workshops, and the associated travel
Supplies: Assisting with costs for student projects
Experience: Providing stipends so students can afford to participate in internships and other applied learning opportunities
Exploration: Providing access to hands-on projects, including research
Career Development: Attending events for team building and professional development
Covering STEM Camp supplies
