Brain Injury Social Communication Clinic and Research Lab Fund
Students and faculty in the EWU Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders conduct research and provide no-cost therapy services to individuals whose social communication has been impacted by brain injury or stroke. Weekly group therapy sessions provide psychoeducation and training in self-management strategies and self-advocacy for returning to work and other valued occupations and roles.
Contributions help support this important work by helping to fund the following:
· Materials and supplies for therapy sessions
· Equipment and services to evaluate and treat patients for social communication and cognitive-communication disorders after stroke and brain injury
· Participant reimbursement and research assistant stipends for clinical research on assessment and interventions for social communication after brain injury
· Purchase and maintenance of up-to-date clinical instruments and software to improve data collection and analysis for clinical research
